HUMiLITY Event

July 13 • Sooner Park • 10-2

The love of God finds its perfect expression in the person and work of Jesus Christ. Both fully God and fully man, Jesus came to earth, not as a conquering King, but as a humble servant.

Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. - Philippians 2:5-8

It is at the cross of Christ that we come to understand the divine nature of humility: the creator of all the heavens and the earth, of everything seen and unseen, nailed to a cross by His own creation (John 1:10-11). But what they intended for evil, He used for good (John 1:12).

The HUMiLITY event is a time set apart to remember the person and work of Jesus Christ. We do not come to exalt ourselves, but to exalt Him (Matthew 23:12). We do not come to celebrate our achievements, but to confess our sins (1 John 1:9). We do not come to save our lives but to lose them (Matthew 16:25). We come to worship our Lord and savior Jesus Christ, and to humble ourselves before Him (James 4:10).
